About the UGREEN MM123 (50251)
The UGREEN MM123 (50251) is a USB-C to HDMI and VGA video converter designed for computers with USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode or compatible Thunderbolt video output. It provides one HDMI female port supporting up to 4K@30Hz and one VGA female port supporting up to 1920 × 1080 at 60Hz. The outputs can be used individually or simultaneously, with both external displays showing the same image at up to 1080p@60Hz during simultaneous operation. Its 18cm cable and scratch-resistant plastic housing make it suitable for everyday display connectivity.
Design & Performance
4K Ultra HD Video Through HDMI
The HDMI output supports video resolution up to 3840 × 2160 at 30Hz on compatible monitors and televisions. This allows users to connect a USB-C laptop to a larger screen for documents, presentations, photographs and multimedia viewing.
The maximum 4K resolution applies when using the HDMI output on its own. Actual display modes depend on the connected source, HDMI cable and monitor.
Full HD VGA Monitor and Projector Support
The VGA female port supports Full HD 1920 × 1080 video at 60Hz, making the adapter useful for connecting compatible older monitors and projectors. It helps users continue using VGA display equipment with laptops that offer USB-C video output.
VGA carries analog video without audio. If sound is required, use a compatible HDMI audio connection or another suitable audio output from the source device.
Simultaneous HDMI and VGA Output
The UGREEN MM123 allows HDMI and VGA displays to be connected at the same time. In simultaneous mode, the two external screens display the same image at up to 1080p@60Hz, making it convenient for presentations and shared viewing.
The adapter does not provide two independently extended external desktops through its HDMI and VGA outputs. Display extension between the host laptop screen and the external output depends on the computer’s supported display settings.
Compatible USB-C Video Connection
The converter uses a USB-C male connector and is designed for laptops and computers that support DisplayPort Alt Mode or compatible Thunderbolt video output. It can connect to HDMI televisions, modern monitors and VGA projectors through suitable display cables.
A USB-C connector alone does not guarantee video support. USB-C ports intended only for charging or data transfer cannot provide a video signal through this adapter.
Compact Housing and 18cm Cable
The UGREEN MM123 features a black, scratch-resistant plastic housing and a short integrated cable. Its compact design makes it convenient to carry in a laptop bag and use at desks, conference tables and classroom workstations.
The 18cm cable provides a practical connection between the laptop’s USB-C port and the adapter body. Separate HDMI or VGA cables are needed to connect the adapter to external displays.
Plug-and-Play Display Setup
The converter is designed for straightforward use with supported USB-C computers without requiring a dedicated adapter driver. Connect the USB-C plug to the video-capable host, attach an HDMI or VGA cable and select the appropriate display mode in the operating system.
The adapter is intended for video connectivity. It does not add USB-A data ports, Ethernet connectivity, USB-C charging pass-through or additional independent graphics outputs.
